has now become a rental. I made it perfect, new paint, carpet, kitchen and new bathrooms. I spent the last four days there with my new tenants, my perfect home has had some issues come up. The dishwasher was leaking (they called me 4 days later), the basement is damp from all the rain, and I had been out of town for 2 weeks. So Monday got me off to a good start at the house and I wasn’t finished until Thursday. I also decided my cute little porch had to go, that’s the good news of the week. Minus all of my recent expenses the porch came down and I was faced with the best possible outcome… a perfect slab of cement. No building for me, just a power wash and some stain. Here are the demo photos, I’ll post some after photos in a couple of weeks after the new door, siding and roof are installed.
I think I’m about done with our Master Bedroom for the time being, Brad about flipped when I rearranged it yet for the 5th time since we moved in and I’ve already painted it twice in less than a year and a half. Here’s the fresh pallet after wall paper tear down.
It’s small I know, that’s the hardest part about projects… I just want to “dig in” so I don’t always have a before picture.
Like the bench? That’s my latest Craiglists find, oh the treasures.
Yes, I know I’ve been slacking in the posts department… what can I say?? It’s Summer! I’ve been pretty busy though so I have a handful of before and afters I will be posting over the next couple of weeks. First up was a simple fix for a patio set that had become pretty warn out from the weather.
A trip to Home Depot for a couple cans of spray paint and some remnants from JoAnn Fabrics, viola I’ve got a new table and chairs.
My sister and I own a couple of rental properties together, it’s always a joy. Wednesday night brought on the challenge of moving in/out a fridge through a tiny stairway with a sharp corner. We’ve got lots of maintenance with this one and more than one tenant…
Lot’s of thanks to our husbands and friends.
A relaxing Sunday morning… what’s that? We made our first trip to the St. Paul Farmers Market today and I’m sure it won’t be our last. Diesel woke me up before 6, our dear friend was out on the pond…
Soon we headed for a quick drive to be greeted with fresh fruits, veggies, flowers and even some Bison.
Brad’s new favorite recipe for potatoes: Crusted Red Papper … made right on the grill.
I’m off on Tuesday to Atlanta for Americas Mart, and will hopefully have some posts form there…
Hope you had a wonderful Independence Day!
What do “I Do” with all my wedding photos you may ask, if you are like me you’ve got several but ordering a copy of your top 20-25 may not be in your budget. Maybe you order just one, but how do you capture the whole day in just one photo? It’s simple actually, send me your favorite photos and we can work together to create a custom piece.
In a previous post I have mentioned my travels with Starkey Hearing Foundation; the link below is for the latest Newsletter featuring our trip.
